A brawl with sticks and clubs between two women over a donation box at Khatu Shyam Dham in Sikar caused panic among devotees. A video of the incident went viral on social media, and the police have registered a case and begun an investigation.
Sikar: Khatu Dham in Rajasthan's Sikar district has once again become embroiled in controversy. Here, on the evening of September 6th, around 7:30 PM, a dispute between two women over a donation box turned violent. The argument escalated to such an extent that both women attacked each other with sticks, and a public brawl ensued.
When devotees witnessed this scene, chaos erupted. Nearby pilgrims were terrified, and many people recorded videos of the incident, which then went viral on social media. This incident tarnished the holy image of Khatu Dham and sparked outrage among people.
Allegations of snatching gold chain and donation box
Khatu police station in-charge Pawan Kumar Choubey stated that 28-year-old Silochana Meghwal, a resident of Kagdana village in Haryana, filed a report at the police station. She alleged that 5-6 people, including Ramkala, Kailash, Pooja, and Suman, attacked her.
According to Silochana, the attackers broke her mobile, snatched the gold chain from her neck, and took away three donation boxes containing cash. Additionally, her companions Monika and Sunanda were also beaten, and their mobile phones were smashed. The accused threatened that if they tried to keep donation boxes in the future, their limbs would be broken.
Dispute at Khatu Dham Kabutar Chowk
At Kabutar Chowk in Khatu Dham, there is a practice of soliciting donations in the name of various organizations. However, there is no official system for this. This is why disputes and incidents of violence occur frequently. The police have said that a case has been registered in this instance as well and an investigation has begun, and strict action will be taken against the culprits.
Local residents and devotees want the administration to implement proper monitoring and rules and regulations in this area to prevent such incidents in the future. Transparency and security measures in the process of collecting donations near the temple are considered essential.
Devotees demand action from the administration regarding the violent incident
This is not the first time that sticks have been used in Khatu Dham. Before this, a brawl had occurred between some devotees from Madhya Pradesh and local shopkeepers. Some time ago, a shopkeeper had also accused a policeman of assault.
Now, the violent clash between women has further stained the sanctity of Khatu Dham. Following the viral video on social media, devotees are enraged and want the administration to take immediate and stricter steps in such matters.
